”Brighton-based producer Distinkt mints the first 10” on Sector 7 with a pair of rough and ready, road-tested weapons. Previously spotted shelling out tracks for the likes of Mad Decent and Crucast, Distinkt moves between styles while keeping gritty low end grind at the forefront of his production. Both sides of his one and only appearance on Sector 7 have been thoroughly worked in the club, now finally making their way out of dubplate limbo onto a proper pressing for the people. Low-down nasty ‘More’ was produced alongside next-gen garage heavyweight Conducta, while mid tempo bruiser ‘Medina’ on the flip came from Distinkt flying solo. On both short and deadly cuts, the emphasis is on hooky samples and punishing bass drops with a lo-fi finish. These beasts have been squashed and crunched to the edge of fidelity for a purposefully gritty feel which matches the gnarly sonic content contained within.
