「本作は、沖縄を拠点とするHarikuyamakuとBitowaの二名から成るユニットangamaによる初のレコード作品である。彼らはこれまで、2020 年に自主制作でのカセットテープ作品「view」を発表しているものの、流通は手売りと一部のお店のみにとどまり、活動自体もHarikuyamakuのスタジオでセッション、沖縄のローカルイベントでのセッションライブなど、彼らの日々の行動範囲内に限られていた。2025 年1 月に当レーベルからリリースしたBitowa - Septemba EP をきっかけに、沖縄―八王子で親睦を深める機会にも恵まれ、今回のリリースへと至った。本作に収録された楽曲も予定調和ではなくセッションの中で生まれた音をベースにしたもので、Bitowaが生み出したビートに、Harikuyamakuが主にBuchlaシンセサイザーを使用して上音を加え、空間的なエフェクト処理を施した、呪術的な雰囲気を持ったTechnoとなっている。マスタリングエンジニアPoleとdubbyな楽曲の相性は抜群で、今回は更に、あえて片面あたりの収録時間を抑えることにより、カッティング時の制限となる要素を極力排除し、可能な限りの最高音質、最適音圧でダンスフロアを揺らすことを最優先に考えた仕様になっていることにも注目してほしい。」
”This is the first vinyl release by angama, a duo consisting of Okinawa-based artists Harikuyamaku and Bitowa. Although they previously released a self-produced cassette in 2020, its distribution was limited to direct sales and a handful of domestic record shops. Their work had largely remained within just Okinawa, taking place through sessions at Harikuyamaku’s private studio and live performances at local events. Following the release of Bitowa’s Septemba EP on Dotei Records in January 2025, we had more opportunities to deepen our connection between Okinawa and Hachioji, eventually leading to this release. The tracks on this record are not the product of predetermined arrangements, but are built around sounds that emerged organically through their sessions. Bitowa creates the beats, while Harikuyamaku adds the layers, primarily using Buchla synthesizers, and applies spatial effects processing, resulting in a form of Techno with a distinctly ritualistic, almost shamanic atmosphere. The dubby character of the tracks is a perfect match for Pole’s mastering. We deliberately limited the playing time on each side to minimize the factors that can impose limitations during the cutting process. The record was produced with the dance floor in mind, aiming for the highest possible sound quality and maximum impact.”
